Terms of use

1. The Service

CoinDate is a reference tool that matches photos of coins against an on-device catalog of United States coins and displays typical retail ranges, key dates, and educational notes. Features may change. We may add or remove coin types.

You need a compatible iPhone, camera permission to scan, and (for Premium) a valid Apple ID purchase.

2. Estimates and limitations

Identifications, grades shown in the App, and prices are estimates for personal reference only. They are not:

• authentication that a coin is genuine;
• professional grading (including Sheldon / PCGS / NGC grades);
• an appraisal for insurance, tax, or estate use;
• an offer to buy or sell, or investment, legal, or financial advice.

Catalog data is compiled from public numismatic references. Actual sale prices depend on authenticity, exact variety, condition, eye appeal, and the live market. Obtain a qualified numismatist or recent comparable auctions before you buy, sell, or insure a coin.

Names of coin types are used descriptively.

3. License and acceptable use

Tsinginc grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CoinDate on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or misuse the catalog, models, or content except as allowed by law. You may not use the Service to commit fraud or to mislead others about a coin’s identity or value.

We may suspend access if we reasonably believe you are abusing the Service (including payment fraud).

4. Identification and estimates

Identification of United States coins in the catalog is available without Premium. Typical-retail estimates stay locked until you buy Premium or a single-estimate unlock. Catalog browsing remains available.

5. Premium, subscriptions, and lifetime

Optional paid features (“Premium”) unlock full typical-retail estimates, as described in the App at the time of purchase. Identification remains available without Premium.

Auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly and yearly):

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price shown to you.
• You manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if one is offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription during that trial, where applicable. CoinDate may ship without a free trial.

Lifetime Premium is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. Restore it with Restore Purchases on devices signed into the same Apple ID, subject to Apple’s rules. It does not guarantee that every future feature we ever ship will be included; it unlocks Premium as defined when you buy it and reasonable successor features we include in that entitlement.

Prices vary by storefront and tax. The App shows the price before you pay. Apple’s refund policy applies to all purchases. We cannot independently refund Apple charges; request refunds through Apple if eligible.

6. Restoration

Use Restore Purchases to re-apply Premium you already bought. We are not responsible for Apple ID mix-ups (for example buying on one Apple ID and signing into another).

7. Intellectual property

The App, on-device models, catalog arrangement, text, and design are owned by Tsinginc or its licensors. Coin photographs you take remain yours; you grant us no license to those photos because we do not upload them for identification. If you email us an image, you grant us a limited license to use it to support your request and to improve recognition quality.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that identifications are complete, accurate, or error-free, or that the App will be uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tsinginc and its officers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or coins, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on an identification or price range. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim (excluding amounts paid to Apple as commissions, if any, not received by us) or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.

You agree you will not seek to hold Apple responsible for the App, these Terms, or Premium features. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this section as required by Apple.

10. Indemnity

If you use an identification or price from the App in a sale, listing, or dispute, you will defend and indemnify Tsinginc against claims arising from that use, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be reasonable in light of the Service. If you continue to use the App after an update, you accept the new Terms except where the law requires extra consent. We may stop offering the App. Subscriptions already paid remain subject to Apple’s rules until they expire or you cancel.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the App Store’s terms govern your contract with Apple. Courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have additional mandatory rights in your country of residence that we do not override.
