Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Tsinginc handles information for TV Remote Control: No Ads ("TV Remote") and its product and policy pages at tsinginc.com/remote/.

TV Remote is permanently free, with no ads displayed in the app. It requires no app account, registration, subscription, in-app purchase, or daily usage allowance. We use GameAnalytics for remote configuration and, when you allow tracking, app measurement. With that permission, Kochava and Meta help us understand app installs and the effectiveness of promotions for TV Remote. These services do not add ads to the remote. App artwork, configuration requests, website visits, and other services can contact external providers, as described below.

TV discovery, control, and local storage

The app searches your local network for compatible TVs and receivers. It exchanges discovery information, pairing requests, remote commands, and any text you choose to enter with the relevant device. Your TV receives the commands and information needed for those features.

TV details such as names, network addresses, identifiers, and pairing credentials are stored on your device to reconnect. Preferences, saved activities, authentication keys, and downloaded app artwork are also stored locally. These records are not uploaded to a Tsinginc account or cloud service.

When supported system integrations are used, the app shares activity names, a TV display name, and pending commands with its own widgets, shortcuts, and controls through storage on your device. Siri and other Apple system features operate under your Apple settings and Apple's privacy practices.

Photos, videos, and audio you select

Casting uses the system picker to access the individual media item you choose. The app does not scan or upload your entire photo library. It may make a temporary local copy and make that copy available to the receiving TV over your local network. Selected media is not uploaded to a Tsinginc server.

Temporary copies are kept while needed for casting. Discarded selections and copies released after a failed or cancelled cast, a source change, or stopping the media server are cleaned up once active reads finish. Leftovers from earlier app sessions are cleaned up when media is selected in a later session. This is not a promise of immediate deletion when playback ends. Your original photo, video, or audio file is not deleted by this cleanup. If you select a file from a cloud-backed system provider, that provider may separately download it according to its own settings and policy.

Optional local reminders

Reminders are off until you choose to enable them. If you opt in and allow iOS notifications, TV Remote schedules a short, finite series of local reminders after time away from the app. You can change the delivery time or turn reminders off in the app's Notifications settings. Turning them off does not limit remote-control features.

The reminder preference, chosen time, last active time, whether a TV connection has succeeded, and whether you have opened Channels or Cast are stored on your device. These limited local signals help choose useful reminders. Notification titles and text follow the language selected in the app; changing that language replaces pending reminders. Opening the app resets the inactivity schedule, and an unattended series ends after 30 calendar days.

This reminder system uses iOS local notifications. It does not register for remote push notifications or upload a push token, reminder preferences, or notification-use events to our measurement services. Notifications do not contain TV addresses, pairing credentials or selected media. If tracking is allowed, opening the app can generate an ordinary app activation event as described below; it does not include reminder contents or delivery settings. iOS Focus, notification permissions and delivery settings can affect when reminders appear.

Remote configuration and optional app measurement

GameAnalytics provides remote configuration after iOS has returned a tracking-permission decision. Configuration requests can occur even if you deny tracking. They disclose your public source IP address and SDK request information, which may include app and device or installation identifiers, to GameAnalytics. This is separate from your TV's local network address. When tracking is denied, restricted, or not yet decided, our integration disables measurement-event submission and does not cache those events for later replay. Remote configuration cannot activate a paid tier, ads, subscriptions, or a command allowance.

If you authorize tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, the release app can submit GameAnalytics usage and session events and initialize Kochava and Meta for install and promotion measurement. These providers may receive device or installation identifiers, the advertising identifier when available, app version and platform information, public IP address, and basic interaction or attribution information. Kochava can derive a general location from an IP address; we do not request GPS location for this purpose. This measurement can associate app activity with promotional interactions outside the app.

The app's custom measurement currently records onboarding completion. Meta receives activation and onboarding events; its automatic app-event and purchase logging remains disabled. Kochava and Meta are not initialized before tracking authorization, and the integration is disabled in Editor and development builds. The app does not send TV names or local IP addresses, pairing codes or credentials, raw diagnostic logs, selected media or media URLs to these measurement services. GameAnalytics automatic error, crash, and performance uploads are disabled in our integration; providers may process their own SDK operational information as described in their documentation.

For details about the providers and their data practices, see GameAnalytics privacy information and its data-processing information, Kochava privacy information and SDK data details, and the Meta Privacy Policy. Their services may process information outside your country. Retention and deletion depend on the applicable service and processing arrangements; withdrawing tracking permission does not automatically delete information already received.

App artwork and external requests

TV Remote can automatically query Apple's public App Store search service for channel app artwork, including when the interface first loads. It sends an app search term, such as the name of a streaming service, and downloads an image from the returned address. It can also download artwork from an address supplied by your TV, which may be on your local network or an external service.

Those services receive the relevant search or image request, your source IP address, and ordinary network request information. Artwork requests do not include your selected media or TV pairing credentials. Downloaded images are cached on your device. Apple's handling of information is described in the Apple Privacy Policy; other image providers have their own practices.

Website visits, sharing, and support

The new product and policy pages under tsinginc.com/remote/ do not set cookies or include advertising or analytics scripts. Our web server records standard access logs, including IP address, requested page, request time and status, browser information, and referring page when supplied. These logs support website operation and troubleshooting. This description of the /remote/ pages does not describe every feature of other Tsinginc pages, including the contact page.

If you use the app's share action, iOS shows the system share sheet with the app name and website link. The destination you choose receives that content under its own privacy practices. The app does not attach TV credentials, selected media, or diagnostic logs to this share action.

If you email us or use our contact page, we receive the message, contact details, attachments, and device information you choose to provide so we can respond. Opening a support link does not automatically send TV details or logs. Please do not send pairing codes, passwords, or pre-shared keys. Support messages remain in the support channel you use; contact us if you want to request their deletion, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements.

Your choices and data removal

You can decline tracking without losing remote-control or casting features. Manage tracking permission in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking. When the app next becomes active, it checks the current permission and disables measurement-event submission if permission has been withdrawn. GameAnalytics configuration requests and other external requests described above may still occur. Denied or restricted tracking permission does not start Kochava or Meta.

You can separately manage Local Network and other app permissions in iOS Settings, choose which media to share, and stop using features that contact external services. Denying a permission needed for a specific feature may prevent that feature from working. Apple may process App Store or system diagnostics according to your device settings and its own privacy practices.

Deleting the app removes its ordinary app-local storage through iOS. System backups, shared extension storage, and information retained by your TV or another service can have separate lifecycles and controls. Deleting the app does not itself delete provider records. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information processed for TV Remote, including help with a provider request. We may need enough information to locate the relevant records, but you should not send TV pairing credentials or selected media for this purpose.
